How to Wash your Soccer Cleats?
Every game needs a proper dress and shoes to play with, and soccer is no different. Other than the journey and the shorts, you also need cleats to play well. Without cleats, the player won’t be able to play as freely and maneuver as well. Today, soccer cleats have evolved, and they provide much better grip, speed, protection, and overall functionality when on the ground. But like other equipment, you should take care of and clean your cleats regularly to get the optimum performance from them. So, here is how to wash your soccer cleats properly:
1. Remove the dirt or mud from your cleats after practice
This is a given after any practice or tournament match you would want to remove the dirt and excess mud from your cleats. You should do so after every match so that it becomes a habit for you. You can remove the mud, grass, dirt from the studs by using a stick. Once you are done with that, you should take the two cleats and bang them from the stud side. Doing this will help clear all the extra mud or dirt from your cleats. Then you can carry them home.
2. Remove Laces
After getting home, pull out the laces from your cleats (soles too, if they are removable). Then you can put them into a cloth together (like pillowcases or a cloth bag) and put them into your washing machine with detergent. Doing this will clean them and make them fresh.
3. Clean with soap and warm water
You will have to take warm water and mix either soap or detergent with it and let it mix. Then take a cloth or a soft toothbrush, dip it into the liquid you prepared, and gently clean your cleats to remove the excess dirt or mud. Clean thoroughly inside and out. Do not leave a spot, and do not submerge your cleats into the water. Clean it gently, and then it will look new and last long.
4. Dry them completely
Now, the last part of the cleaning process is drying. Keep in mind that drying your cleats in direct sunlight may harm them, so dry them in the shade or indoors away from the sun. You can also put newspaper inside the cleats to dry them quicker. Now, once they have dried completely, put them in the laces, and they are ready for your next match.
